Best Wishes to Our Ambassadors
As excitement grows and many of the Scouts and Explorers prepare for their trips abroad --be it to the World Jamboree in Sweden or to Africa with the Scottish Contingent to Malawi-- I hope you all think about your opportunity to represent Scottish Scouting as good ambassadors and to make every effort to make new friends with as many people as you can.
I hope all your last minute preparations are going well. This may be a first international Scouting trip for many and I am sure you will be getting excited by the prospect.
I will be joining the Malawi contingent and am really looking forward to it as a new adventure, but also because we are going to help develop Scouting in Malawi.
Malawi Trip - Further Details
So many people in Scottish Scouting have contributed to the Malawi project, with a 50-strong contigent due to go across.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Maize Mill which was the major part of the fund-raising that all sections contributed towards.
The mill in currently being constructed on the National Campsite and below is a photograph of the current progress.
We hope to see it working and producing maize by the time we arrive in July.
Do You Want to Go Overseas?
If you have not been abroad or had an international experience, I hope that I can help facilitate this - so please get in touch if you have any questions.
I look forward to hearing of all the exploits that you have been up to, please think about keeping a trip diary either individually or as a group.
We want to share your international Scouting experiences, so please remember to take pictures and send a short report or diary to me afterwards.
