Welcome back to another session – hopefully you had a restful summer and have lots of ideas for your Pack this year.
This is a good time to ensure your team of leaders receive all the information which is available – check your details are correct on Membership Management System.
Top Awards
Your GSL should have asked you how many Cubs received their Chief Scout’s Silver Award last session. You might need to give them a reminder!
Recording the Cubs achievements for this award can be done on the wall chart from Scout shop or the individual sheet downloadable from The Scout Association website.
Also don't forget to notify Scottish Headquarters of any of your top achievers so that we can gather data for funding and reporting purposes. You can do this easily through the online form on the link above.
Programme ideas
The National Museum of Scotland has re-opened with improved facilities for youngsters including Enablers who will take groups around.
The Woodland Trust has offered groups trees for planting. As we approach the Queen’s Jubilee Year this could be something to commemorate this occasion as well as going towards the Naturalist Activity Badge.

Animal Carer Activity Badge – Pets at Home in Stirling have been visited by a few Packs from Forth Region who had a fantastic time. Have any other packs visited their local store?
News
Cubs from across Scotland had a fantastic time during the holiday when Lord Coe visited the 113th Glasgow Scout Hall as part of his UK tour promoting the Olympics.
This will be a great encouragement as we prepare for 2012 Olympics. Resources will be produced later this year for Programme ideas. For photos of the day see the Scouts Scotland Flickr.

All the best for this coming session - please come and meet the Cub support team at Acceler8 on August 27th between 10am and 4pm.
