Celebrate The Queen's Jubilee

Ideas for celebrating HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee can be found at www.scouts.org.uk/jubilee - please send us photos of how you celebrate.

Catch Olympic Fever!

All leaders should have a copy of the Olympic Games ideas called Our Sporting Adventure, and hopefully you have registered to be on the medals table.

This is an ideal opportunity to do the Athletics Activity Badge (new requirements) and Fitness Challenge Badge.

Other New Resources

There are new resources, Scouting speaks to all, about speech and language difficulties on the Scout Uk website. Well worth a read with the Leader's Guide.

Creative Scotland have a calendar of events for 2012 – an ideal chance to revisit Scottish Challenge Badge requirements on the website and badges available from SHQ.

Parent & Cub Camp at Meggernie

This is a perfect opportunity for Cubs to share the fun of Scouting with a parent over a fully catered weekend, with guaranteed to be fun for all!

This will take place from the 18th to 20th May and bookings are now open. More details here.

Cub Scout Weekends at Lochgoilhead

Are you looking for an opportunity to take your Cub Scout Pack to a camp with other Cub Scouts?

Lochgoilhead National Activity Centre in Argyll have designated the following weekends for Cub Scouts:-

  • 31st March – 1st April 2012
  • 23rd – 24th June 2012
  • 27th – 28th October 2012

The Activities Manager, Neil Baird can help you to put together programmes to help you achieve many of the Activity and Challenge Badges including Water Activities, Map Reader, Navigator and Outdoor Challenge to name a few.

Give him a call on 01301 703217 to see what he can organise for your Cub Scout Pack.

There is also a special offer available of £199 per person and one free adult per ten Scouts during the first 3-weeks of July. Places are limited so contact Lochgoilhead quickly if you want to secure places.
