Chief Scout Bear Grylls with Queen's Scouts at Windsor
The highlight of gaining your Queen’s Scout Award is to be invited to Windsor Castle to parade in front of and be inspected a member of the Royal family.
On top of this the Scottish Headquarters Team invites you to take part in the Scottish Queen’s Scouts’ Expedition that compliments the formal Sunday with a tour of London and dinner on the Saturday to make a full weekend of your trip.
Did you get your letter?
All Queen’s Scouts who have completed their Queen’s Scout Award; who are under 27 and have not taken part in the Windsor Parade before, should have received a letter from SHQ in December about the Queen’s Scout Expedition being organised for the weekend of 27th to 29th April 2012.
Please reply to the letter to book your place or contact myself on the email below if you are expecting it and have not received it as yet.
You will also receive a letter directly from Gilwell, which is only for the parade element. You should respond to this also but not get the two invitations confused.
HUB 2012
The now annual Hub 2012 camp is again taking place at the Nethy Bridge Youth Hostel, near Aviemore on the 2nd to 4th of March this year.
This is a unique camp in that participants can choose what activities they want to take part in from a ‘menu’ of activities. Some of these activities attract additional cost but that is up to you!
You can find more information and book your place online here. Please see the HUB Facebook Page for more information.
Regional Meetings with SHQ Commissioner
All DSNLs and ARC (Scout Network) should have received a doodle invitation to take part in a meeting with myself over the next six weeks or so.
These dates have now been set and further information is being distributed.
DC’s without DSNLs are invited to send representation to find out about network in their Region.
Representative members of Scout Networks are also invited to join these meetings.
Please contact me at scoutnetwork@scouts-scotland.org.uk if you would like to attend.

The next meeting of the SSNC takes place on the 11th of February from 10am near Linlithgow.
Please email me if representatives have been nominated from your Region recently or you would like to find out more.
The SSNC is changing to a more active committee of the Scottish Board and will be helping to shape the direction of Network in Scotland. If you are not represented then your view cannot be heard.
